What a day!!!!

As you saw in my last post, I have concerns on my welfare out here...
Whilst I feel in no immediate danger and in good spirits, the mixed reports and contradictions I am getting does not put me totally at ease.
I am concerned that whilst the doctor here says I have serious injury and need surgery immediately, I am also allowed to walk around my room and sit up whereas I think if it was too serious then surely they would immobilize me as they have done for friends of mine who has suffered similar injuries in the past.
Is it because they are wanting my insurance money or because I need surgery as a matter of urgency in case further damage is caused?
I have spoken to my travel insurance who are willing to pay for any treatment out here but cannot recommend that I leave the hospital based on the report submitted by my doctor here.
I have a copy of this and will publish later.


My travel insurance will pay for any medical insurance whilst here, but not on my return to the UAE.
In the meantime, I have contacted another insurer that I have. I can get treatment with this company anywhere in the world but have doubt (which is currently being checked by them) if they would cover a paragliding related injury as it is possibly classed as extreme sports.
None the less, they are currently doing research into the facilities here and also have an office based here in Delhi which I did not know. They will also cross check the doctor and the report here and make sure that that the recommended treatment is necessary, and determine if it should be done here in this short timescale given.
I have had confirmation that the hospital I am currently staying in is on my insurers recommended practices list, but they will do further checks regardless. This is good news.

I spent nearly all day trying to arrange and find a way out of this dilemma that I am in but seem a little closer to having that peace of mind... Mind you, this is India of course and for the past month I have had surprise after surprise and not all for the best.

Its an interesting place there is no denying and I just wonder what will happen next...

NOTE: I have just found out that all loose ends need to be tied regarding insurances and once I am happy with whatever decision is made (hopefully today), surgery will take place Thursday if I am here, as a delay has been caused due to my concerns. Too right!
